Very similar to our work at a government run shelter for young girls.  The Foundation spent its first 4 years in Peru, working and supporting an orphanage for abandoned and abused young children.  Getting to know these amazing kids changed and motivated The Foundation to work even harder to find support for the Andean children of Peru.  For the 4 years we worked with these kids, were able to help with numerous things, including setting up programs, and workshops for them.  The Pura Vida Foundation also assisted with food, school supplies, clothing, and weekly field trips for the kids.  We also were able to better understand what the kids and the staff were missing and needing at this government run orphanage.  This helped us to substantially operate our current shelter better for young girls.
