In 2012 The Pura Vida Foundation teamed up with the St. Jerome’s University to give a young boy and his family a gift of a lifetime. We gave him the ability to live a normal life by lifting a tremendous burden off his shoulders, the ability to walk. In 2012 we were able to give this child the ability to walk, run, and play like a normal kid. By promising to give a new prosthetic leg to Ricardo every two years. Because Ricardo and his family live in extreme poverty, this promise helps him and his family immensely. His mom now doesn’t have to carry him, to and from school. And for the first time in his life he doesn’t have to depend on anyone.
